LOOK what I found at the DIY this morning!

29 Euros - not a bad deal methinks... actually I think they got the price mixed up there, but I'm not grumbling

I am one of the "others". Right now I have a tool rack that I bought at Ace hardware up in my garage. I hang the tools up there when not in use, and then just lean them on the oven while I am using them. It is a hassle and I am going to look for a sturdy pot that would help after reading this thread...

James, continuing the terracotta cookware for the WFO is a great idea. Keeping it price conscious is great too. I would like to see that idea expanded. The pottery is nice though. Our favorite pottery place is "Pottery World" in Roseville, Ca. We seem to always spend too much when we go there. I am sure Telehort (Scott) and Dalucca would agree to the place.

I see there are number of "other" votes in the poll.

Can any of the "other" voters elaborate? I'd like to hear more.

Mosaics... they make things pretty heavy

A hole on the bottom to let the rain out is a good idea. I was thinking of using one of those large outdoor plant pots... or rather two. One beside the oven for the peels in use and one under the roof to put the peels away in afterwards.

In defense of the "piece of flue tile" method: it's open at the bottom so you don't get standing water when it rains.

I'm using that piece of flue tile that cracked to hold mine on end....

It's pretty heavy and plenty tall but really ugly.....

I bought a FB rack, but have never put it up, so I prop them against the wall of the oven. But I am now going to be on the lookout for a ceramic urn!

We have an agreement to purchase really high-end terracotta pottery from a producer in Impruneta -- I just haven't decided when to get serious about it, and really kick off selling it in the U.S. The clay is quarried locally, and the pottery is thrown by hand, and fired in an old fashioned, wood-fired kiln. It's not inexpensive. :-) Still, it's amazing. It lasts a lifetime (or two) and it looks really nice. The last time we were there, they had a large number of huge vases and pots all packed and ready for shipment all over the world -- luxury hotels in Dubai, addresses in Russia, Saudi, eastern Europe, Asia, etc. It's pretty cool.

It'd have to be pretty heavy too, so it doesn't topple over.

...still you're shipping ovens all over the place already, so a little pot like that shouldn't pose a problem.
