    Thanks again Russell, thats clear enough, now as far as vermiculite goes, thats applied over the insulation right, how much or how many bags will i need of those. Also can those be purchased at hd or lowes. I noticed there is perlite which is cheaper than vermiculite?

    I used 1- 90# bag of portland cement, 1 - bag of lime (can't remember weight - std bag) 2 - 100# bags of quartz sand, 1.5 # of fire clay. I used the left over home brew on the outside of the dome as I layed the brick, there was always surplus as I layed so why not put it to good use rather than throw it away. This was on a 42" ID oven.

    So let me understand this correctly, After the firebricks to the dome have been installed using the refractory mortar, we dont have to add more refractory mortar ontop of the dome right? So after the dome is complete with firebrick we install the insulation blanket, Over the blanket we install chicken wire, then over chicken wire we apply vermiculite? or just stucco? If so how much Vermiculite will i need? Thank you so much for the help.

    Awesome, how many bags of sand and lime will i need? You only used 1.5 bags on the entire build?, and that covers the brick stacks and the outer cement for the dome?

    Probably sand and lime at lowes or hd, check a brick supplier for fire clay like mudox fire clay abt 10 bucks a bag. I used 1.5 50 lbs bags on my build.

    So im getting my calculations ready to order concrete blocks etc. question is does lowes sell the refractory material? Fire clay, lime sand? Is that the ingredient for the mortar? Where do i find those? Thank you

    Ok got the info i needed, thanks to Russell (Utahbeehiver). For those looking for the same info when installing a corner oven, The length is 86", the sides are 55.5" & the short side/door area is 43.25".

    Does anyone have dimensions for a corner foundation and cinder block lay out? I guess the foundation would be a square flipped to the side? how about the cinder blocks. Thanks

    UtahBeehiver will probably be your "go to guy" if you build with 80% alumina brick.
