    Re: slab curing time?

"If you did it right, you can strip forms the next day and get right after it. To be safe, a couple of days won't hurt."

I agree. However you must also keep the slab wet and well supplied with water for at least seven days. Cover the exposed surfaces with burlap or old towels and soak them down regularly.

      Gdy all,

poured the 2nd slab today or should I say shoveled it! seems to have come up pretty well as I managed to mix a better consistency of cement doing it in the barrow for some reason. went and bought the fire bricks as well which was pretty exciting to be getting into the dome soon.the bricks I was able to buy already had a taper cut into them which will make a much tighter fit and make my job a little easier as I am not known for my brick laying skills! Making tables is my thing I will post a pic of latest table. Has anyone else used tapered bricks in their build?
      cheers

Everyone's concrete slabs look so much prettier than mine. Mine were sooooooo dry. Nice job.

Thanks kewbi it was like glass when I finished it. Just sat back and enjoyed 3 or 4 quite beers and watched it dry! Very relaxing, and pondered on all the skin I had worn of my hands mixing it. Just worked out I have pulled up short on the silica insulation board, so another trip out to the brick refractory. Standby for more updated pics.
