      The nasty galvanize fumes will be released at around 900 degrees. I don't have this in writing but Ive heard it from 2 different sources. The reason I know this: I'm very active on a BBQ forum and someone was building a cheap smoker using a galv garbage can. Research was done and the 900* flash point was learned.

      All that being said, the guy didn't build the trash can smoker. Galv is some nasty stuff. Be on the safe side; stay away from it when using heat and/or food.

      JMCFAN, if you find that the screen is galv plated, have some milk handy when using it. Milk is the antidote to galv poisoning. No kidding.
