I made a bellows a while back. They are terrific for getting things started up; not much effort, with good results.
Also good for showing off a little bit -- get things pumped up and then toss a big chunk in to get the rolling flame over the dome for pizza -- it will quite impressively burst into flame for you even if damp.

Also good for when guests don't come over at the appointed time and you need to hurry the dome up to white.

I've been using a long metal tube to blow on the coals, but have terror flashes while doing it...what If I take a breath without removing my mouth?
