  • Used firebricks in Sydney - Anyone know of these type ??

    Hi Everyone,

I've found some second hand firebrick (ive been told they have come from an old oven) they still have soft mortar stuck on them.

They look like firebricks ive seen in other posts and have an "NB" stamped on one side.

Has anyone come across these bricks and can confirm they would be ok to be used in an oven?.

    Regards,

    Bruno

Maybe Newbold, which is a long departed victorian manufacture, are they light weight, say 1kg???

It will come down to what each brick actually weighs Bruno.

            They look fairly dense.
Are you sure they are firebricks?

I put a few on the bathroom scales and they came in at around the 4kg mark. Is this a bad thing?

JACKPOT. It appears you have a NewBold firebrick from walker st dandenong that is at least 25 years old.
