I'm hoping to weld up an insulated, cantilevered oven door, simliar to this (around 3:00), but maybe with 2"fb layered in between two pieces of steel.
anybody have or built something like this?
Very interesting door. Not sure how it operates but there must be a foot or arm lever connected to it. I used Stainless on the inside of my door and made it 4 inches of FB Board, it insulates very well but it is a simple plug style Stainless pop rivets hold it together.
The door now has handles and a Bi-metal thermometer in it, Not shown in these photos.
no lever. it's just counter weighted so it tips flat. the ash dump is recessed so the door lays flat on oven floor to load bread.
your door is sharp chip. let me know how the rivets hold up over time. i'm pretty sure doors will always fall apart eventually, especially with heavy use.
