  • Is rebar necessary in oven foundation?

hi everyone. is it really necessary to put rebar in the concrete for the foundation of my oven? it seems like overkill to me given that its not spanning any gap and only really needs to resist a crushing force from the weight of the oven, but the forno brano plans have rebar in the foundation.

Yes, for the pad or foundation that lays on the ground. And hell yes for the hearth that sits up on your blocks or bricks - the 'table' your oven sits on. Cost is minimal. No bending necessary. Cut rebar with an abrasive wheel on a grinder.
