  • Pompeii Stand Question tumbled block

I am considering using a prefabricated block to match a wall in my current landscaping. Does anyone have experience with a product like this?

I have been searching the forums and don't really find any builds using a block like this.

This is more expensive but creates a nice look with other things that I will be doing later with my BBQ etc.

I used modular block like that for a friends retaining wall once. It should work fine for a oven stand, but keep in mind most of those wall units are designed to be built on a batter, so plan your footprint accordingly. They might have vertical block too, But I don't use modular wall block, so I'm not sure.

That is a vertical 2 sided wall block, it should work fine.

Re: Pompeii Stand Question tumbled block

Perfect, without showing the actual plan, it will be a similar Square/Rectangle like every other stand with two Pillars in the entry of the space for Looks and for work/counter space. They will be capped and will be 2 - 2x3 foot pillar caps for putting food down etc.

Sounds like it will work just fine.

You do not have to do so, but I would use a product like NP1 between them. Just run a single bead down the center.

So what you are suggesting is, take precautions to tie it all together right? I would do that....either rebar and concrete or a combination of glue. What is NP1?

              Thanks for the suggestion...

                It's exterior grade construction adhesive.

Re: Pompeii Stand Question tumbled block

Ok so the stand is done. I was able to use the block that i wanted. This took two days to build. It was two full days of work with a bit of Butt kicking. The second day was over the next weekend. Today....a lot saw work. I had to cut the block to fit in a 4 inch Angle Iron.

This is what I wanted and it was worth the hard labor haha.
