    Re: I hope this works

cutting the bricks and keeping a symmetrical circle would be too tricky.

Tricky works - I can think of several words that describes the problem

Good luck, you may be onto a "magic bullet"

Les I went with the mortor and small brick fill as I thought cutting the bricks and keeping a symetrical circle would be too tricky. Also using the door template for the arch build as a support for the mortor pour on the inside of the oven should give me a nice smooth look from the outside. I will find out tommorow....wayne

    Wayne,

I think I understand what you are trying to achieve - looks solid to me. Question; why didn't you just complete the span with brick?

Uno, I had one of those as well in the early 60's. The add on larger sprocket and a few links of chain did wonders - could climb a wall. I think that was the only bike I had that I didn't get hurt on.

    Hey--

I checked out your Picasa album, I was going to comment on there but couldn't find where..Ovens looking great I LOVE the stand...

What year is that Trail 90? I have a 67 I bought 2 years ago, do you have a good source for parts? It runs great but there are some original chassis parts missing that Id like to replace.

Forget it...Sorry I didn't read the caption....I got so excited about the bike..

    I hope this works

This is the same foam I used for the big floating puck that made the cavity in hearth for insulating concrete. It is easy to shape with sand paper.
I mixed the Moldit-X mortar on the thick side and a few smaller pieces of brick added in during the application. I sure hope this works.
Has anyone else done this kind of treatment at the vent opening? Feedback welcome......wayne
