I'm glad to see so many over 50 building their ovens. I'm still 48 (barely!) and I'm thinking this will be the last big, hand built "project" I'll be doing. It's been years since I built my patios and re-roofed or tiled by bathroom floor (20+ years ago). And this 42" WFO is completely different than anything I've done. I'll be too busy baking bread and pizza to do anything else.

Older or young, everyone I've read on this site inspires. To build something so similar to what they were building in Pompeii or elsewhere 2000 years ago makes you feel attached to history, people and the work they put in to what they did to feed themselves and others. Good food, well made, is so awesome!

Personally I always liked this poll... because it started just before I hit one of those zero birthdays

You're right Travis, it'd be fun if it were still open and kept popping up again from time to time.

I know the poll is closed, but I'm in my 20's, so that's at least 1 person. I started in July/August and hope to be done by year's end.

I haven't started mine yet; but should within the next 4 or 5 weeks. But by the time i'm done with it I'll be almost dust.

I kinda thought that the 40s was the domebuilding eras of our lives. It's a bell curve, no doubt. It might be fun to break it down further someday.

Side note -- my sister-in-law turns 50 today. Good thing we aren't in the same country right now. She has a few months to settle down before summer vacation. :-)

Okay, so my vote was preemptive. But I'm 36, and if I can't start this project before I turn 40, I probably don't deserve my own WFO anyway.

Ha! I didn't know that you can show who voted what...

Makes me glad I started my oven last year and not this - makes me feel at least ten years younger!!
