    36" brick count

    Hi Manny,

Good to see you here. After the oven, we'll get you hooked on Italian flour. :-) Simone's oven is beautiful, and she is in the process of putting the photos (there are many) on this forum - they are already on a Yahoo Group.

It's up to me to get the right brick counts and materials lists for the 36" oven on the standard Pompeii oven pages, and I will dop that shortly.

    James

    Brick count

    Hi Simone,

I'm going to build a 36 inch pompeiian too. Have you made any progress on yours? How large a stand did you build?

    stanley,
    thanks for the count!!
what do you mean by an addiltional insulation layer - wouldn't the
    brick add additional thermal mass?

    We used 168 firebricks (9"x4"x21/4").
Please keep in mind that we used 12 bricks out of 168 to build an additional
insulation layer that many consider to be quite unnecessary.
I'm going to buy about 20 more to build a flue support and to finish the
    front.
    Hope this will help,
    Stanley
PS We get our firebricks from a local brick factory ($.90 a piece).
