    All,

    Most of the time I wear Atlas type gloves when doing the kind of work Les describes. However, I find the loss of dexterity in finer work a real problem. Luis uses oil, but there is also a product called Gloves in a Bottle that coats your hands and prevents burns. The only place I know to get it, though, is Lee Valley Tools: http://www.leevalley.com/.

      This is the first time that I am reading this post.
      When I need to work with cement, and the work is some kind of delicate one, for example finishing or coating, the only thing that I do is to wash my hands with oil (any kitchen oil, even canola, sunflower or heavy one if you have) and let the oil in there.
      This had solved the big problems...
