    Re: Fancy String Alignment System

Just what we need more BS in the system. Seems like most companies have plenty of BS in their system.

Seriously though I love the BS system. You could bling it up by making it out of diamond plate every guy would buy it if it was diamond plate.

Heck with this and the brickey you could have an oven in a weekend. How about the "Blockey" hey...wait a min..I...I just...gotta go. I gotta call Billy Mayes.

      Ken,
I noticed that you changed the elevation of the "FSAS" from the begining of your build. Would you suggest starting low in the beginning or would you change it at the point that you did?
      Great workmanship!

      Thanks,
      Don

        Hi Don,

If I did it again, I would probably mount the string to the bottom of the oven from the start. The stick I had it on wobbled a bit. Feel free to play around with it!

Great idea, will work and get the job done. Now here is just a small tweak if you want. You can get cord locks at most sewing centers and craft shops or order online. Slide it over string and lock in place instead of the knot method. Here is a link so you can see what I am referring to.

              Nice tool,

One ofthe photos you posted didn't show any shims, are the bricks cut on all four sides then?

Thanks- looks great- I am about to start. The stand is complete.

                Re: Fancy String Alignment System

I have always wanted to use this method by attaching a wrist band to the end of the string (or a rope) and build an igloo dome structure. This was mentioned for a dome building technique by Ken Kern, author of many Owner Builder books.

                  Patrick,

I cut the bricks on 3 sides.
