    Re: "Clinker Grabber" image wanted.

    People,
I think I hear what's being said. (And I'll probly get another belt in the lug for this post also).
    sin loi.
P.Police has a garden variety solution.
Dmun seems more upmarket, but with feet firmly planted in reality.
    Me?
I'd LOVE (Love love love)to have a forged clinker-grabber artifact, but what are the chances?
    Zilch.
So I steal the design and make my own. Will look like crap, but will do the job. I'd guess A$10.
Beer income, but sham pain lifestyle eh. hahaha.
    Love you mob.

      Dmun,
I saw it too...having rather selfish thoughts, I wasn't going to mention it on the forum until after the auction ended. I agree, the shipping is more than high, which may keep me away as well; even though I've been searching for exactly this item for months.
Jeff may have a good idea, steal the concept and make your own, may give it a shot myself.

        Thanks DMUN!
I honestly did not know they made such an animal.
I live in Chicagoland and shipping is just under $20.
        HIGH SEAS PIRACY!, I exclaim.
I'll keep an eye on it to see what it goes for.
(Secretly, I'm sure we'll all be bidding)

not me, I passed. I shy away from the folks who expect to make a profit from shipping.
Just had a similar experience with a tool and hardware supply house. Charged me $18 "shipping and handling" for an item they stuffed in a box with a wad of paper.....the USPS sticker showed $4.06 when it arrived.

True enough! I love ebay almost as much as google....but I always look at the shipping to make sure it's reasonable....

XJ, I'm addicted to both as well.....seems I check ebay before I buy anything, anywhere. Pretty neat checking out some of the MANY crazy things people put up for sale.

No grabber, but long coal tongs - possibly of use for any UK member?

My dad used it for about 8 years till we had a gas furnace installed. It is in very good condition. Does it have any value? What is a good asking price?..can't find one for sale anywhere
