Oven door installation

Hey all,

I know this may be painfully obvious, but I’m new with this and uncertain. I purchased this door for my oven, for use as an outer(firing) door. Just looking for advice on installation. Is it as simple as building the arch right onto the lip on the inside part of the doorframe?

No, the metal door will expand much more than brick so this will cause the brick arch to crack. You need a gap for expansion.

Ok so I’m thinking build an arch around it then using a forum that has the bricks 1/16” of an inch away from the metal, then install a rope seal? Would that do you think or wider or different material to seal?
