    Did you insulate between the flue liner and brick chimney or just left an air gap?

      I changed it a little bit and did not use steel. I used perlcrete to insulate and form a brick ledge and built the chimney on that. It performs very well.

        Is there just an air gap between the brick chimney and the inner clay flue liner? Or did you insulate that as well?

          It is filled with loose perlite.
