Re: Sean's Oven
Hello!
We cooked our first pizza last night. The first one went outside as a pizza came in as a calzone hahah
still learning how to put it in the oven. Attached is a pic of the ovens progress. The third pizza worked out ok but still learning.
I need to clean the bricks, any good methods for that?1 Photo

Seriously, I had a few small ones and just wrapped it up. You should be good. Post some pictures, it really helps us to troubleshoot.

Curing the past few days. I may have heated it up a little too much, I have some small cracks around the outside. Suggestions?

Wow, with that great dome shape, I'd be sorely tempted to do something flashy in a russian style:

Re: Sean's Oven
I think vermiculite insulation under the oven is fine - works on mine anyway...
I know other builders have other opinions and maybe it would be even better with FB board, who knows? The fact remains, you can build a really cool oven with great heat retention with only vermiculite for insulation.

The prep surface area on the side is a great idea. I'm kicking myself now for not building one.
