Yes, I was impressed by that, too. Good man, he'll be glad about it in the long run!

Re: Best of the Month May 08
Hey Is it too late for nominations? I nominate Derocherconstruction, who listened to the advice given here, and tore up part of his oven construction to go back and include insulation underneath! That kind of thing can be demotivating, but he did the right thing. He also listened to advice about the "chimney in the dome" concept.

Re: Best of the Month May 08
I've fallen behind here.
Lets do this. I will put the voting poll together today, and we then we have until Weds next week to vote (even though we've slipped into June by then).
Stand by for the vote.

Yeah, I would second for DMUN. I think he has forgotten more than I will ever know about any topic.

Re: Best of the Month May 08
my vote is for DMUN
he is always on top of very difficult questions, he is very precise in his answers, very professional...he is like the "professor" of this forum...if he knows he answer otherwise hides in the dark! Thanks DMUN I used many many of your suggestions!

Re: Best of the Month May 08
Oh ya, I remember that discussion now. Thanks George. He did not answer that topic, therefore I thought we were still "Status Quo". Hope all is well up North. We are have been a happy 90's

Perhaps he saw it my way Robert. Let the May postings happen then vote at the end of the month. Makes more sense - at least to me.

Re: Best of the Month May 08
James, when is the poll to begin? I look foreward to the results. Are we to create a new category as discussed previously? Links with photos of the contestants involved work or contributions? It would be sad to see this fun idea die from stagnation. Let's get this to a new level

Re: BOTM April 08 Voting
Probably not. Don't forget -- as site administrator, I can change the vote counting. :-)Originally posted by Frances View PostI'd nominate James' outdoor kitchen, too. It certainly deserves it, but I don't know if its allowed.... and sending yourself a five-pack of caputo flour wouldn't be very much fun either. What do others think, can we nominate James or not?
If only I could do that for the upcoming presidential election. Sorry, no politics allowed.

Too funny! The laughter this month is astounding!Originally posted by Frances View PostHow about nominating Les' innovative contribution to global geography?
I don't know if it was put up before but, can we nominate Hendo's dome gauge...that idea was right on in my book...and given the posthumous nature of the award the flour would go to the party that christens his dream!
Just a thought!

Re: Best of the Month May 08
Here's a nomination in the technical category. cvdukes has developed a new method of mixing vermiculite concrete that involves making a slurry of the portland and concrete, then mixing it with the vermiculite or perlite. This provides much better distribution of the portland with the aggregate, to the extent that less portland can be used. I nominate not with the intention of getting a winner, although that would be cool too, but to bring attention to this important innovation that might otherwise get lost in the rush of spring builds.

Wow, thanks! ...but wouldn't you prefer to wait until its finished...?Originally posted by mfiore View PostWell, it might be premature, since it isn't completed yet, but I'm going to nominate Frances for that phenomenal blue swirled mosaic dome
My nomination for this month is mmmmmmmmhumous' cool witchy brick oven http://www.fornobravo.com/forum/f6/h...work-3666.html
