  • Kind of New in Seattle

I live in West Seattle and have had the oven since Fall of 2015. I wanted one for years and when the back yard was finally put in, I got the oven. I used 100 year old brick salvaged from a neighbors chimney for the base (I had used it for pathways in the garden since 1987 and had to dig it up. This stuff was heavy heavy brick) and clay tile salvaged from an old hospital torn down in Colorado through the Tile Guru. (This guy is great, really knows his tile http://rooftileguru.com/ ). Split stacked stone on the top left over from a retaining wall. I kept the Forna Bravo chimney but added an industrial turbine to the roof. The baffles still turn. I had picked up 2 Italian terracotta mermaid brackets many years ago, (saving them for the oven) and those were attached on each side of the oven opening. Yeah, if I amortized the cost over the pizzas, I will be making a lot of pizzas, but I love the oven and it is worth it. My next project is to practice baking bread in the oven.
