smaller oven

Hi, I was wondering if there is a reason I should NOT build an oven smaller than 36 inches. I built the base for a barrel vaulted oven and now I think the dome would better serve my needs. Alas, now my base is too skinny for a 36 inch dome.

Could a 28 inch interior dome work? If so, suggestions on dome height and door size?
