old stone for floor
Hello all, I am going to build an oven in my backyard and will use some material that it was part of a very clean kiln. Because I have the material, I would like to use it to save $$......my questions are:
Can I use what is called (I think) "old stone", for the cooking surface? these pieces are 12 x 23 x 1 inches. These were used for the roof of the kiln. If I use these stones, can I fill the gaps with the same floor paste?
I do have some bricks that are very light and porous (insulating brick), and I was wandering if I can use a layer of that brick, under my cooking surface and as part of my hearth, surrounded by insulating concrete?
