I was cleaning out inside of oven today and noticed small gaps in some of the bricks with sunlight showing through ! (Photo attached)
How much will this affect performance ?
I must admit that instead of the tried and tested measuring of angles I just hand cut bricks with angle grinder and then used chisel to shape.
I did not need as much heatproof screed as I expected and have quite a bit left - enough to cover the oven with a 1/2- 1 inch layer.
Almost finished building chimney and starting to cast a plate for my flue
is it worth putting a 1/2 inch to 1 inch extra layer of heatproof screed (https://shop.vitcas.com/hps-heatproof-screed.html) all over the dome and sides of the oven ?
Will this just crack over the gaps anyway due to expansion and contraction
