Hello everybody, this is an awesome forum!
My name is Dimitris, I live in Greece and this is my first attempt to build anything. We are under 5 months lockdown here and I had this crazy (as my friends, family and neighbors said) idea to build a traditional wood oven. Due to the lockdown I have plenty of time but no money.. So I went to my grandma's old house and found the 70 years old abandoned oven at the backyard. I managed to get about 300 bricks from there (I think grandma who passed away since 10 years now wouldn't have a problem getting them anyway) and started the build. I have almost finished the oven and my question is, should I lay vermicrete insulation on the dome before or after the curing fires? Right now there is only a very thin layer from the same mortar I built the dome. I don't want to cover with blanket, well not yet maybe..
Thanks everyone!
