I?m a first timer, an inexperienced builder and mason. Can someone help me with my issues?hopefully their not problems.
1. My vermiculite/cement poor swelled upward about ?? overnight. What happened? Do I just scrape or sand the oven floor to make it level?
2. The surface skin also blistered in places making the surface skin crumbly. What happened? Do I lay my oven floor bricks directly on the now level crumbly surface? Is setting the bricks into a fireclay skim important?
3. Is the chimney vent immediately above the inside or outside perimeter of the oven dome?
That?s enough to get me to the next question.
