I had to buy 4 more cubic metres of the stuff
I got a delivery of firewood for the lounge heater the other day, my supplier usually has mediocre Redgum for firewood so when the 1 cubic metre of wood arrived I didnt expect too much.
What a surprise I got when it was delivered.
He delivered some of the driest and hardest mixed Australian firewood I have seen in over 40 years.
In the mix was Yellow Box, Red Box, She Oak, Iron Bark and Red Gum, all hard and dry as the cobs of hell, someone must have cut this wood 20 years ago and just left it stacked to dry.
It is so hard that some re-cutting with a chainsaw has resulted in the wood being burnt by the chain.
I just couldnt resist, I had to buy 4 more cubic metres of the stuff, if I had more room Id buy the lot off him.
(cost is $200 per cubic Metre)
The dross and waste that usually comes with the wood is now welcomed for the pizza oven, especially this lot.
