  • DC pizza club meets in Georgetown

DC Elite Pizza, an informal club for wood-fired cooking enthusiasts in the Washington area, met at il Canale in Georgetown on June 6. Ten club members enjoyed the superb Neapolitan pizza, attentive service, and relaxing atmosphere of Joe Farruggio's beautiful new restaurant, just yards from the C&O Canal.

New members are always welcome. Please go to www.dcelitepizza.com for more information, or contact Dave Konstantin at dave@dcelitepizza.com.

That sounds great, wish i lived in the area. Look at the last picture of the inside of the pizza oven...i just want to point out that you don't need to make seamless mortar joints to have a great oven...

Way to go Dave. The club is getting bigger every time you get together.

I will second Drake's comment -- I don't think the pizzas know how tight your mortar joints are in the dome. :-) And that oven came from Naples.
