    Im after a good quality digital multi meter.

    Must have max hold, ohms, volts, (temp optional) all the usual stuff that come with low end multi meters.

    Im after a good one, what does the brains trust recommend?

    Up to about A$200.

    I fried my last multi meter checking out if my hot wire fence was active.... it was......

    There are plenty of them around at various outlets,
    I've seen many that have various safety features that should prevent 'frying' it from places like Dick Smiths, Tandy, Jaycar, and selected Supercheap outlets.
    Now if you want to pay the world for one, get a Snap On!
    There are around 400 digital multimeters on ebay at present.
