    James,

Is it possible to rearrange our photos in the photo gallery? I wanted to add a couple showing more detail of the hearth but it will be out of sequence with the others. Also, we should encourage others to use the gallery; the posted thumbnails tend to get lost in the volumes of threads. I had a visit from a fellow ?Brother of the Brick? this weekend and was trying to explain how I did it, only to realize the detailed pics were in the threads (my bad)

I'm one of the guys posting all my pics in my thread. If I understand what you are saying, I should also post highlight pics in the associated album in the Photo Gallery, right?

      Ken,

That is what I recommend. The cool thing about the gallery is you can look at ALL photos posted by an individual in one place. As I said, thumbnails tend to get lost in the threads. Hell, I have a hard time finding some of them, and I posted it. If you go into the gallery and select the members letter, then select the name on “posted by’, you will only see their photos. You can post a link if you like such as
      http://www.fornobravo.com/forum/phot...ndex.php?u=152

The only down side that I see is the comments – it appears you would have to monitor it to see if any were added.

        Re: Photo Gallery

Posting in the Photo Gallery has two advantages: it's easy to copy the "IMG" tag and post it in your post, or the "URL" tag to post it elsewhere. The "img" method also posts a medium sized photo in your post for the benefit of the bandwidth challenged, and you can look it in the photo gallery (or change medium to large in the url) to see it in more detail. As noted, the images are properly sorted in a central location for easy reference.

A hint for multiple image uploading: You can only upload one image at a time, but if after your image is uploaded, you hit the back button on your browser instead of "upload image" again, you just edit the image name, and save several steps and screens.

I really enjoy the pictures in the threads. Seems easier to follow along.

But I like the idea of highlight pictures in the gallery.

            Dave,

The gallery is divided into categories. If you are only interested in ?hearth and stand?, you simply go there and view the pic?s and comments. Much, much faster then digging thru pages and pages of threads. I suppose you could post in both places but that seems a waste of James? storage capacity.

            Les?

James, can someone get this accomplished (time to do it). It would benefit every member, not just a few.

Ahhh! OK... So I post in the Gallery then put the tags on the thread so I'm not uploading the same image twice. My concern was that I would but uploading two sets of pics and wasting server space. I'll have to play with that.

                Thanks!

                  Re: Photo Gallery

Ken, you got it! Another HUGE advantage is the lasting visibility. Paul Ages, one of the first to build an oven at this site, posted his progress in a thread; most are now broken and lost. If all your post's are in a thread and you quit updating the thread, who's to know they exist? The gallery is the way to go. That's my opinion and I respect it.

Les, any progress on the arch? You mentioned doing the arch before the dome? Did you decide to redo it?

                      Robert,

Yes, I did tear out the entry bricks and rebuilt it. I have the sides of the entry done and should get going on the arch tonight.
