Oven door position vis-a-vis Flue.

Should the door seal the arch infront of the flue or with the flue outside??

Also should flues be insulated or not I am doing a stainless steel flue.

Is a flue damper required or not?

I have two doors. One goes against the inner arch so that I can seal off the oven chamber and separate it from the flue. This is for minimum heat loss when using the retained heat in the bricks for baking.
The other goes in the outer arch, has vents in it, and allows me to run the fire while keeping out the wind and minimising the heat lost out the front.
