Gee Allan,
that's 4.3˚C higher than it officially got here today.
I guess you Victorian's are really feeling it and worried about the fire ratings being bandied around now!

Reminds me of the joke my Dad always tells:
So after a weird series of events (which we will not go into right now) this Statistician ends up with his head in the freezer and his feet in the oven, and he goes: Well, on AVERAGE I feel fine...
Whew, 47 C is pretty hot. I think given the choice, I'd prefer the cold.
"Building a Brick oven is the most fun anyone can have by themselves." (Terry Pratchett... slightly amended)
I tend to agree with you Mark, I hate the cold as you cannot always get warm and when your finger tips and feet have lost feeling, you're in trouble.
But when it is hot, I can always turn on the air conditioner or as I usually do, just jump into the pool fully clothed.
Not good WFO time though!

Yeah its about 47 degrees in Melbourne right now.Thats 47 degrees FARANHEIT in the Melbourne(Florida) that I live in.Our palm trees are getting hit around here,citrus crops are wasted.I wont complain,its supposed to be back up in the 70's by thursday.
buck, count me in on the cold weather losses. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I only have frost burn, but I am pretty sure I have lossed 3 palms (maybe 5) and several smaller plants from the past 3 nights. Can't say I will replace them (would be about $3000) at this point. I lost a couple last winter.
What the heck is going on with this weather the past couple of years? Record lows the past three nights. A record 10 straight days below 60F (15.5C) Record rainfall in May, June, and November........
For those keeping score, the temps at my house the past 3 nights when I went to bed:
Fri = 28F, -2C
Sat = 24F, -4.4C
Sun = 28F, -2C
I am sure it was colder in the wee morning hrs.
Our high temp has been 30 degrees F BELOW normal for 4 straight days. I guess I didn't move far enough south 14 yrs ago.
