I posted the question the other day asking where I could get the commercial grade flue pipe.I'ts right here on the forno bravo sight!Sorry,I never really looked at the products on the sight I just use this forum to ask questions.I figure I can use regular vent pipe though.Whats the difference I'ts stainless.

Stainless steel won't rust on you. If you use an ordinary galvanized steel pipe you will have to replace it somewhere down the track.

However, don't kid yourself that stainless steel flue will last a lifetime either.
When you heat it up as in welding or in a fire, it oxidises and rusts quite readily.
To prevent this, you must passify it with passivating paste which is a combination of hydroflouric acid (etches glass), hydrachloric acid (brick clean or pool acid) and nitric acids. This eats all the oxide leaving only stainless steel.

Does this mixture restore the nice shiny stainless look? When I hire out my mobile oven people treat it like a rental car. I wonder how much fire we can put in this thing? I think it has had some pretty hot flames up the flue and that has made the pipe brown. My permanent oven which is about the same age still has a nice shiny flue because I fire it correctly.

I'm concerned because I built an oven with a fireplace attached to it and I am going to tie the flue for the oven into the stack for the fireplace.Once I'm done this flue pipe is going to be completely buried forever.Nothing will last forever but I'm just trying to decide what's best to use.

I would look into a terracotta flue liner, size suitable for your requirements, ie for the 2 devices, cut and glue the bits t suit the joins and then either render or encase it in brick or stonework. This would then last almost forever!

it cuts the oxidised stainless back to a shiny surface but not to be confused to a polished one.
