  • Cartagena Teatro Romano

    I had heard about this Roman Theater that was recently found in Cartagena in southeast Spain. Took a couple of pictures from the castle above the site.

    It looks like it's being rebuilt for future use. You can see the seats cut into the rock. You can also see the stage foundation to the right in the second picture that is being rebuilt.

    Hey Jim,
    Very nice. Those Romans sure got around. We visited the theater in Taragona and the nice excavations south of Toleda a few years back, but I've never had tickets for a modern performance in one of the old theaters. They do Opera in Verona in a very intact theater, and bull fights (not my style) in Roman hippodromes in Provence. But I've never done it.

    How anyone been to a live performance in an old theater? Other than the hard seats, is it fun?
