Starting on the 7th of January I'll no longer have to be envious of the aussies in their sunny summer climes. I will be spending about 6 weeks visiting my wife's family in Santiago, Chile, and more temperate regions farther south.
Santiago is about the same latitude south as Sidney. I'll also be visiting her brother who lives in the Patagonian region of Chile at about the same latitude as southern New Zealand.
