We are in Taormina, Sicily and have spent four wonderful days in this fascinating place. Our last light here we decided to try some pizza. Because there are so many other good foods here and we know what good WFO piza is like we haven't sampled much, so after sussing out a Forno Legne restaurant, which I won't name, sat down to enjoy the local fare. On close inspection the oven revealed no flickering wood flame, but an electric element inside the WFO. Now I understand the scarcity of timber in this town, but "Forno a Legne" is wood oven after all.
The pizzas were nice but took around 3.5 mins so not to the standard I expected. We finished satisfied until we got the bill which asked us to pay for 6 pizzas and one salad for a party of 6, when we had only ordered 5 pizzas and a salad. Needless to say we left without leaving a tip.
Off to Amalfi coast this morning for a week.Shall skip Pizzas for a while until I find a genuine WFO.
