  • Boulangerie Poilane

Here are a couple of photos of the area around the Poilane bakery in St. Germain. It's in a nice neighborhood, with local shops and boutiques, and it is off the beaten tourist path. We walked from the covered food market in St. Germain and had a great time.

It's true there were lines, but compared with other parts of Paris -- it was a local experience.

Jim, here's a thought. We found Poilane at the local Monoprix foodmarket, Galleries Layfayette, and the St.Germain food market; as well as the bakery. Even great bread can benefit from distribution channels. :-)

You sure did visit a bunch of rather great places. What type of "Pain Poilane" did you enjoy!?
