If you have opportunity to check out some hot springs, you won't regret it.

      Hi Frances,

I don't know how this fits with your itinerary, or if you'll even see this, but the Squamish nation (comprised of the West Coast Salish tribes) are hosting their 23rd annual youth pow-wow in Vancouver, July 9th to 11th. Open to the public, admission is minimal ($5 per person) and features arts & crafts and a salmon BBQ.

Another event is the Squamish nation art show, July 17 & 18.
Both good opps to meet people from this very distinctive native nation.

Hope you're having a great time!

      Sarah

What a great suggestion, that would have been very cool... its not going to work though, too late for this week end and visiting Wiley next. I'll keep an eye open for those tribes when we do get up there, though. Maybe we'll come accross something.

          Frances,

So nice to see you guys having a great time. We're pretty fond of Canada too! We're especially happy to see you spending so much time in Oregon. Dixie and I are both native Oregonians and are very proud of the quality of our environment. Many people have never really thought very much about Oregon. Even within the USA, a lot people know very little about Oregon... "Oregon...Isn't that by California or Washington??..." We sort of like that obscurity, because we fear that if the secret gets out, people will flood-in here. Hahahaha

It was a genuine pleasure meeting you and your family. I only wish we could have shown you around a little, but then again, your guys exploratory nature is AWESOME and has served you very well. You guys holiday hard-core!

          Best of everything,

          Ken and Dixie,
          Oregon, USA

You haven't really arrived home until you get your visa bill, right?
Could have been worse mind, it could have been one digit more...

We had the most amazing trip, and I'd like to thank all of you contributed with ideas and comments along the way. Getting to visit some FB members was a really wonderful experience! I don't know if all Forum members and WFO builders are per definition interesting, friendly, cool, wonderful, hospitable people, but the ones we met certainly were. Meeting the ovens and the people and families behind them was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. Thank you all so so much!
