Oven Door...

Good morning, Guys...Seems like a simple question, but I haven't heard it asked before:
When using your wood fired oven, and the recipe calls for the door to be shut, should you also block the chimney? Seems like most of the heat would exit up...

The door goes inside the vent. There's no need to block the flue in a freestanding oven.

The door is placed between the inner dome entry and the vent opening. That's where you place the door to trap heat in the chamber.
