New Zealand Fuera Oven comes in for landing

So at last my new Fuera Oven arrived today.

The guys were awesome and did a early evening installation.

Some serious air time to get it to the base pad. I was nervous as hell.

Still - it all ended well and I am very happy. The guys stayed and talked me thru the first firing and offered a number of awesome cooks that I cannot wait to try out.

I am really happy with the oven, and think it looks awesome. The quality of finish is very high and the service 10 / 10.

I guess there are some that are made smaller. But - Hey, Its a lot better than I could do myself, and the oven in general is extremely well finished.

I promise to post my first pizza pics (assuming I dont muck them up) to show that it cooks just fine !

Who made that wooden stand? That looks sweet!

Thanks. The stand was made by the same guy - he mills the wood himself off his farm and is made from Macrocarpa (Cupressus macrocarpa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) - or what "you guys" call Monterey cypress.

They grow large down here - like 40m high. He is making me a coal rake and a pizza peel with the handles being made from the same tree.

so have you cured her up and firing some top kiwi kai pizza's yet? Just starting to put fires into my oven - got a party in 2 weeks and haven't finished all the insulating yet - pressure is on!

Hey Andy.

Yep - Cured it over a weeks worth of fires. The Fuera ovens hold up very well - no cracking and held heat really well.

While doing the curing we roasted a chicken (cooked fantastically) and made a really nice Hearth bread.

Super impressed.

Picked up some 00 flour and am going to have a crack at pizzas for the first time tomorrow. Complete with the big angry fire.
