I finally took time off from cooking pizza and baking bread to add some finishing touches to our 42" Pompeii oven.
We had poured a curved concrete roof to enclose the oven dome, and I wanted to hide it. I picked up some 12 X 12 slate tiles at the Home Depot, cut them to 6 X 6, and rechipped the edges. Installed over the concrete, they are a nice improvement and the 6 X 6 size is scaled nicely to the size of the enclosure.
Also fashioned a exterior steel door, mostly for looks, but it may help keep out any blowing rain.
Now my wife says its time to move on to other projects around the home.
