    That is one beautiful oven!
I love the overall lines, the brickwork and the way the front & back openings seem to 'lighten' up the whole thing visually, in both senses of the word.
    Stellar job!

this picture shows the 8" thick iron door I made. I can cook pizzas on friday night and still have enough heat to bake on sunday, without adding any fire since friday night.

An eight inch thick iron door? Wow. I hope it's not all iron, or you have a crane nearby.

Regardless of the thickness of the door, that is my all-time favorite oven design. I absolutely love it.

Love this oven. You are doing a couple of things similar to what I did on mine. I particular the arched opening at the wood storage and the center dome chimney. Do you have any pictures on how you accomplished those two things that you can post?

Here is a good looking oven by maburton from 2008, that I thought, many of the new builders like myself, would like to see. gmchm

Thanks Cobblerdave-I read through your thread and see you have some experience in sealing your oven from rain. When I get to the stage of sealing the oven I will have similar problems. I hope to find enough old brick and don't want to build a house over it. Although, I like the look of Les's oven as well. gmchm

                      A quick question or two.

I'm currentlydeplyed and was looking at building a brick oven when I return. Do you know what are the builidng coded requirements, or building permits required.

                      Thank you for your help
