  • My new outdoor kitchen

I finished my FB WFO several years ago and converted it to gas about a year ago.
    I love it!!!!
i live in an area of mexico that has good weather year around and don't really need a roof over it, but decided to build one because of dirt and dust from trees or wind.
my wife loves the outdoor kitchen because when I make pizza dough in the house, she says, I get flour everywhere
now, when I finish a pizza party, I take out the garden hose and wash everything down.

That's very nice mexman! I'd love to have a setup like that. Where are you in Mexico? Gas seems like a smart conversion given what I imagine is a scarcity of firewood.

I'm just outside of Guadalajara at 5500 feet. No, we have plenty of wood. I converted to gas for convenience. I can have my oven to over 850 degrees in an hour and no clean up or mess. A lot of times, I make 1-2 pizza's and would not bother if I had to use wood.

I've used the outdoor kitchen three times now for Pizza with friends and wished I had built it a year ago. As stated above, the biggest problem with having friends over for pizza is the clean up after they leave. Last night we had friends over for Pizza and 15 min after out guest left, we were ready for bed.
another timesaver I started using is putting all my different toppings in throwaway plastic cups. I dump all my left over toppings in a 1 gal zip lock bag (for next day soup) and throw the cups away. I have a large servers tray that I put my salt, spices ,olive oil, etc into to carry in the house for my wife to put away and I wash the outside counter off with water hose.
        great !!

I try to learn from my mistakes, and from yours when you give me a heads up.
