  • BOTM March 08 Nominations

I think somebody has to do something dramatic this month to keep Dave from winning again.

Nominations for Best of the Month for March 2008 are open for business.

I'll kick things off with a nomination for Acoma's completed dome... Very tight brickwork cut and assembled during a brutal Reno, NV winter.

I second the motion. Certainly nothing dramatic happnin' 'round here. Sad to say that the "pop tart thing" tops the list.

I'm going with Robert as well - how he worked in this crap is beyond description. Now, if RC had flames pouring out of the mouth of the beast he was riding - thats a different story

I don't think I can win without Dave's support. He seems to be the Godfather of BOM....

Actually... I think Dave's only won one BOTM (Feb). I believe the last thing he won was the contest to see who made the 10 billionth post or something like that (I'm pretty sure he made most of them)

I would like to nominate Georges pink oven. It has been a labour of love for 5 months also through the winter. Great arch detail and polished concrete.

I'll have to go with Inishta, too. Part of it is the dome, archway and polished concrete, but also the WFO builder's apparel. He would win hands down with matching shoes.

Thanks for the kind thoughts. Due to popular vote of the neighbors and wife, and reassurance that the oven's waterproof, I painted it today.

No more Pink Elephant. Now I call it the Great Pumpkin. Tomatoe Bisque in eggshell finish. Not my fav. but the wife and neighbors say it's better. Pics to follow in the near future. Tomorrow, another coat.

How about RCLake's documentation of the new curing process, his great dome (and bucking bronco pic) and of course the wonderful view on every single one of his updates...?

And I also think that wayne's cool copper door deserves a nomination.

Yeah, Wayne's door is pretty awesome.

Once again, we are going to have a whole bunch of REALLY good ovens to vote on... This is going to be very hard!

I nominate Acoma for his incredible work, ability to work in 2 foot snow drifts, and to finish with such a clean oven that you can eat ice cream on it Ah, had to try, right?
