I have to second that. Not to diminish the fine work of other members, but this oven (and garden space) is beautiful. Unless someone else has a jaw dropping surprise we have yet to lay eyes on, this should be a landslide.
Not much point in nominating anyone else this month, is there?
Btw, I vote that we wait until Les has finished his dome and nominate him next month. If I had to decide between those two ovens I think I'd have to end up not voting at all...
"Building a Brick oven is the most fun anyone can have by themselves." (Terry Pratchett... slightly amended)
I would like to nominate Hank Scram for his fine specimen of a sourdough loaf

"Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that's creativity. " Charles Mingus
"Build at least two brick ovens...one to make all the mistakes on and the other to be just like you dreamed of!" Dutch
Right, lets make this month's voting really difficult...
I'd like to nominate Carl for his really cool oven made out of recycled materials and using a different kind of insulation and a completely different building technique, also an improved mk 3 door which doesn't burn. (Can't locate his thread right now, but I'm sure you all know which oven I'm talking about)
I want to nominate Les for both his great brickwork (incredibly accurate), and also for his photos. Not only informative, but they are artwork themselves.

I gotta second it.
Unless it eliminates him from next month's voting... (which should be when he closes his dome in)
Shoot.....don't eliminate Les from next month....I've been waiting for him to "get there". Sure don't want him to miss out on well deserved recognition. I attempted the cut to fit build method, and until Les came along I thought I did great work.......He has elevated "cut to fit" to an art form. That is one patient man.
Hate to say it, but with maburton's completed oven and garden space, it is going to be tough for anyone else to beat him unless they too are completed.

I must agree.
Did Maburton build the whole thing?
No contractor or anything?
Dave, good point on maburton. That would certainly sway my vote.
Taking nothing away from a breathtaking project, it does make a difference to some of us if it was DIY or a "let me get my checkbook" project when asked to compare with others. I'd like to compare apples with apples.
Anyone know for sure?
I'm pretty sure he said he did it all himself--I know I saw pictures he posted of him in the process of doing it. And he said it was his first time doing masonry. All the more reason to be impressed!
