    I started my oven yesterday, and getting ready for the clay but I can't fined any. I live in Doncaster England, any help very welcome

    I attended a course on oven building some time back and we built both clay and a refractory concrete one, the effort that goes into a clay oven and a refractory oven is very little, the clay ovens last just a few years and are maintenance heavy.

      Thank you for your response, what do you mean by refractory concrete. can you make an oven from cement, what did you make yours from, if you don't mined me asking

        My first oven was made from refractory concrete, a high heat concrete not the sort you buy from the builders yard.

        The second oven I am doing for myself is from fire brick.

          I think I need to do some more investigating. I think oven number 1 looks amazing number 2 will look even better liking the bricks

              BTW, We've heard before about the difficulty of sourcing fireclay in the UK. I know it's available, but not at every brickyard, like it is in the states. Ceramic suppliers may be able to get it for you, or point you in the right direction.
