      I bought this one, B370 [B370_020402] - $28.70 : Braun Brush Co.
      I cut it in half and screwed one half to a broom handle, so now I have two.
      The postage was $90 alone.... but we cant get this sort of stuff here.

          I had a week off, and back at it yesterday. The dome sat for a week, but now the vent is green. How long to wait for small low temp fires. the sides of the arch is also a week in curing. Questions, Questions, always questions.

            Hello HummerGB,

            Well, you have two choices. You can wait a while longer and see if the color changes to black or you could start low, slow, curing, fires now. On the other hand, I'm a little jealous because I think a green vent would contrast nicely with the logs and fire.

            Cheers,
            Bob

                    I like the rounded edges on your supporting slab, looks much better than sharp corners.

                        Thanks Dave, Its proving to be a little devil because I did't plan that far ahead when I did it for my brick on the surround. My corners overhang a 1/2" right at the back of the curve. {{{Scratching Head.}}}}

                          I have the brick work sorted out and came up with this design. Cedar shake roof brick on the surround and cedar on the facia. I know it's wood but we'll be okay this insulation will be done right.

                            Ramped up the curing today to a full blaze. I had been easing up the temps, two days ago had over 600F no problems, and today cleared the top of the dome and thats where it stayed. Got two hairline cracks inside. So i guess keep it up over 550 for a few more days and maybe it will dri out enough to clear the whole thing.

                              I really like your roof design, a nice area to keep out the rain, I hope you used treated lumber next to the concrete and a sill dguard strip to keep moisture away.

                                Hey Chip, Thanks here is an updated pic with the brick that is going on it. I put the wood in metal track so it should be good to go. Anywhere the wood had hot surface next to it I wraped ceramic and roxul, mainly chimney. My5emp hit son has been helping me all summer, we actully did make a pizza in it and dutch ovened some chicken. floor 580F so we through 2 in it.
