  • Greetings from CT

    Hey All,
Just joined, but been reading from this forum for a while.
but as any newbie I have tons of questions and plenty of help.
looking to start my build late summer early fall.
Literally been cooking all my life back when there was no option to help in the kitchen when Mom was getting stuff ready for family dinnerbut been catching my attention more and more cooking using WFO and bottom line love it.
Here to have a great time learning.
    Thanks.
    Dave

Welcome D Rod, Something mysterious about WFOs. Start with going to the Newbie section look at the attached link. It is a composite of some of the best documented builds on the forum. Then ask away, for the most part you will get a myriad of answers and suggestions. If you have not downloaded the free Pompeli plans from our forum host Forno Bravo, then do so, it is a good but dated baseline.

I went to stone place off brainard rd and they quoted me on the bricks for 1.28 ea. is that fair enough? do you know any place who supply bricks locally?

            Re: Greetings from CT

While I know some have managed to scrounge them for cheaper, $1.28 is a fantastic price for firebricks. I paid $1.69 a brick in Washington DC area and thought I got a reasonable deal. The Aussies have to pay upwards of $3 per. Presuming they were quoting you a price for firebricks, yes?

Is that Stone Depot that you went to? That price is about right for CT.

You can also try Better Stones in East Hartford off rt 84.
