Are you using the drying procedure suggested on this site? i.e : a small fire a day for 7 days, increasing the temp each time. ?
How are you measuring the temps below and above the oven.Do you have thermocouples in there?
Also i'd like to see what type of cracks i can expect to get without worrying.Do you have any photos?
    Thanks mate,
    John.
Yes, i started small, took a week to get bigger.
No tc, i am using a laser thermometer.
Vermicrete was 6 degrees above ambient temp, as the dome cleared.
Reading the forum, iit seems like cracks happen

    Scary fire #2
With the dome cleared, vermicrete below floor was 6 degrees above ambient temp.
Minor cracks as predicted by others on here
Hoping for pizza in a few weeks

    1st scary fire.
The dome is not insulated yet.
After 2 hours, the dome is clearing and partway down the sides
The top of the dome is over 1200 degrees
the outside top of the dome brick is over 300 degrees.
I can't wait to try it with insulation.
    looking good here
thanks for all the input and advice

    Hi Crawfish,
That is a pretty spectacular setup you have there and what a setting
I think my oven size will be pretty similar to yours.
    Mine is around 700mm wide(28") x 850mm long(34").

Ill be watching with interest to see the final product.
    Keep up the good work.
    Cheers,John.

We fixed the bricks on the floor and walls today.
We stayed with the 5" of vermi-crete as the under floor insulation.
Hoping we finish the dome and flue next weekend.
    Happy Labor Day
    Michael
