Hi i need some help re quantities of fire cement mortar for a 36 inch fire brick dome. Vitas sell 20 kg tubs. Does anyone know roughly how many tubs I will need? Alternatively could I use lime, fire clay, Portland cement and sand? Would this mix withstand the heat and not break down?
I am also covering the dome with a second layer of clay brick. What type of mortar is best for this?
