  • Help needed in San Francisco area

We are very excited to get some help with starting in this area. We are in the middle of a remodel and our architect had designed the kitchen to have our existing fireplace in it. He had it raised and said we could cook in it. Now we have been researching this further and realize we would like to have a high quality real oven. I am concerned we need an expert to build an efficient, safe, and effective wood burning oven. We want to maximize the space we have and we will use it regularly. Our current fireplace outside measurements are 56 inches wide, 40 inches deep. We are located in San Mateo California and would like to have someone contact us to help with designing and installing the best unit, as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance for all your help.

That gets tight at 40 inches deep - are you able to push our that dimension at all? Imagine a 36" oven, 3 inches of insulation in back(minimum reasonable, this is with high tech insulation) that's giving no room for a posterior enclusure, that leaves you one inch for the vent and landing. There are smaller ovens but you get pretty tight for fire in the oven cooking.
